From AI News Site to Product Development
After the 2024 elections, regardless of which side you're on, it became clear that the news had failed us. I set out to build a JavaScript/Database-backed news site to create a personal space where I could ingest and analyze news independently. Using the GDELT Data Project and AI models, I explored how different models could examine multiple stories and extract only the facts. What do all the news organizations agree on? What’s the shared truth across narratives?
Developing an autonomous AI-driven news site came with many challenges, which led to innovative programming solutions. I thought, why not take it a step further and build front-ends for these backend tools? That’s how products like QA Retriever, Image Retriever, and SuperConvert were born.
